Decoding Bio is Joining Arkaea Media Group
We started Decoding Bio to discuss what we were already talking about amongst each other: papers from frontier labs, fundraises from new companies straddling the intersection of AI and biotech, and of course, the music we were listening to.
Almost four years, 160 BioBytes, three AI x Bio Summits, and countless debates and conversations later, we knew that the next step needed more than nights and weekends could supply. Today, we take that next step: Decoding Bio is joining Arkaea Media Group.
When we first met Arkaea’s founder Mo Islam, we were immediately aligned on his vision for what a media business could be. Arkaea, a nod to archaea, the ancient microorganisms known for thriving in extreme environments, is building the defining media platform for critical industries. It works across journalism, events, research, and intelligence that shape how business gets done, how policy gets made, and where capital flows. Payload covers space. Tectonic covers defense. Ignition covers energy. Decoding Bio now covers biology.
This journey has been full of surprises for us and Decoding Bio has quickly turned into one of the greatest privileges of our careers. We’ve loved writing about the breakthroughs and businesses pushing the field forward. We’ve loved it more that you all read it and come to the events. You have shown up in ways we never expected. What comes next is the version of Decoding Bio we have been dreaming up for almost four years, now led by a full-time team who cares about critical technologies the way we do. You may see some new faces, but the BioByte newsletter and our events, including the AI x Bio Summit, will continue as always and the founding team will remain as advisors. With Arkaea, we get to bring you more.
Thank you, truly, for reading, participating, and debating with us along the way. The best of Decoding Bio is ahead of us.
With gratitude,
The Decoding Bio Team
